|May Bible Reading Plan|
We are all born physically with a spirit that is separated from God.
John 3 records a discussion between Jesus and Nicodemus. Although Nicodemus was an educated, respected religious leader of the day, we may observe from this exchange that he was not familiar with the spirit realm of human life.
“Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.“How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’” (John 3:3-7 NIV)
Religious knowledge is not equivalent to spiritual rebirth and direct connection with God.
|New Birth occurs when we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. At that moment, the Holy Spirit comes into our heart and becomes one with our spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who gives us our new birth.|
During May, the readings focus New Birth and Life in Christ. Enjoy your time in God’s Word.
