June Bible Reading Plan

God created plant life for us to enjoy. Because seeds and plants are very common, God uses them to illustrate and teach us throughout His word.

For example, Moses wrote: “Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.” Deuteronomy 32:2 (NIV)

The June, 2017 Reading Plan focuses on words related to plants, growth and the earth. Enjoy your time in God’s Word.

May Bible Reading Plan

We are all born physically with a spirit that is separated from God.

John 3 records a discussion between Jesus and Nicodemus. Although Nicodemus was an educated, respected religious leader of the day, we may observe from this exchange that he was not familiar with the spirit realm of human life.

“Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.“How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.  You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’” (John 3:3-7 NIV)

Religious knowledge is not equivalent to spiritual rebirth and direct connection with God.

New Birth occurs when we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. At that moment, the Holy Spirit comes into our heart and becomes one with our spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who gives us our new birth.

April Bible Reading Plan

Hunger and thirst bring us to the place of sustaining life. Sometimes it’s in the natural, when our body craves food or water. Yet, there is a deeper hunger and thirst in the spirit realm that can only be satisfied by our creator.
Be encouraged this month throughout the Old and New Testaments, as you satisfy your hunger and thirst through God’s Word.

March Bible Reading Plan

The Bible has a lot to say about vision, including God’s vision of us and for us. When we have been born of the Spirit of God, as Jesus explained to Nicodemus in John 3, God sees us as a new creation in Christ. God’s vision of us changes forever. We become his children.

When God’s vision for us changes at our new birth, our vision of ourselves must also change.

The Bible can give us vision for a profitable and joyous life. As you read this month throughout the Old and New Testaments, I encourage you to seek a fresh understanding of God’s vision of you and for you.

February Just One Word

Our Spiritual Life

Spiritual life with God is completely different than any other kind of spiritual life or existence. God saves us through faith in Jesus Christ, and receives us just as we are in all our sin. Yet, the truth is that our mind is in drastic need of change to learn God’s ways. As we begin to get our mind renewed to God’s ways, our life improves daily!

THOSE WHO LIVE ACCORDING TO THE FLESH HAVE THEIR MINDS SET ON WHAT THE FLESH DESIRES; BUT THOSE WHO LIVE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPIRIT HAVE THEIR MINDS SET ON WHAT THE SPIRIT DESIRES.
Romans 8:5 NIV

The only way our mind can be changed is to increase our faith. According to God, our faith only increases one way and that is by hearing the Word of God. When the truths of God’s Word are revealed to us, as we read and listen the Holy Spirit, our faith grows.

It doesn’t matter to God where you’ve been in the past…how many times you’ve failed in one way or another.  Remember the words of Paul in Phil 3:13:

” Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,”

I encourage you to begin now, or continue to hearing from God daily with a Bible reading plan.

What would YOU dare to believe?

Oh My, What a Day Or Two!

Imagine this day the disciples of Jesus had. First, they saw Jesus pray over a couple of fish and pieces of bread and feed five thousand or more.  They just saw  Miracle # 1.

Responding to what must have been overwhelming attention from the crowds, John 6:14-15 records Jesus slipping away to a mountain by himself.

If that wasn’t enough for one day…having waited until dark for Jesus to return from his solitude, the disciples set sail into dark and rough water, headed for Capernaum. Three to four miles into the lake, they see Jesus walking on the water to them. They just saw Miracle #2:  This miracle was visible to those in the boat and living reality to the bold one, Peter.

The next day, Jesus was asked by the crowds: “What must we do to do the works God requires?”, in John 6:28.

Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” (v.29).

Our only work is to believe. Action requires belief in something.

Dare to increase your belief today.

He promises it will be worth it.
